Hi my dear blog, how’s everything? It’s been a few months since I’ve updated you last, but today, February 27th, 2024, I want to drop you a few lines about what’s happened, is happening and will be happening with my music.

A Look Back at 2023

2023 closed with my most important theater tour (who was in Bologna on December 26th for the last date?) and 2024 opened with many mountain dates, including the beloved Club Moritzino in Alta Badia, where a super energetic après-ski DJ set overlooking the Dolomites gave life to this reel, which has reached 16 million views, 510,000 likes and more than 10 thousand comments and shares on Instagram. Gratitude and New Friends

I wanted to thank Nico again, a new friend from Romagna who perfectly immortalized the moment with his iPhone and sent me the video: Nico, this summer we will have a toast together on some beach along the Riviera and we’ll create an encore in bathing suits!

Social Media and Randomness in Fame

In light of this acknowledgment of gratitude, I’d also like to share a couple of considerations. The way social media’s function (the famous ALGORITHM), as well as the dynamics of “fame” in general, have a very large randomness component that, no matter how much effort and application one puts into it, can’t be controlled, and this applies to both solo and team work, in my case the team of professionals who follow me. In the end, the greatest results arrive unexpectedly but all the years’ work creates the solidity thanks to which these results can then be seized and generate others. Most of the time it takes us months to conceive, compose and build songs and videos that become small films, show numbers, with many ideas, partners involved and a lot of work and investments of time, professionalism and resources.

Reflecting on Viral Success

When these “products” do not even remotely achieve the results of an impromptu and genuine video, you just have to accept it and understand that the efforts do not lose their value, on the contrary, they are strengthened in other areas by that winning coincidence that sparked the social network.

Over the years I have been managing to carve out a quality niche around my music: the tours, the record and visual productions, the way in which I interpret the violin and all the narrative creativity that I put into it fuel a continuous storytelling that attracts more and more people with different levels of interest. Through continuous feedback (online and in person) I guide my progress and make the growth of the path sustainable.

Balancing Creativity and Market Trends

The effort has always been in maintaining a balance between creative urgency, “free” originality, and the indications that the market gives us, the trends to follow, some shortcuts to reach more people in less time, and the sometimes-distant solutions from my sensitivity to be embraced as small big daily challenges. Ultimately, the large numbers that can be reached with viral content would be meaningless if the people we reach did not discover a rich and solid world of creativity. This viral content must be welcomed and supported as a sign of the times, interpreted with the right amount of fun like the live show that generated it. So I continue to keep myself focused on the right energy: wanting to respect art and its value in the most ambitious challenges, but in the meantime trying to live in the places and ways where people are confronted with the stimuli that a musician and creative person like me can give, be it an event, a club, or a social network.
