Thank you for a summer tour that “I wish could never end” (cit.)

And in fact, in a few days I will be playing in Minorca (Spain), Mykonos (Greece) and Dubai (United Arab Emirates): so, at least musically, my summer will actually not end on September 21st! Follow my social channels if you want to postpone the moment in which you must pull out the heavy clothes 😉

But let’s take a look back on the 3 summer months, in which I divided myself into my 4 “specialties”: electronic music festivals and concerts in the squares, lounge bars and clubs, sponsored events and private parties (including a few beautiful weddings). Summer is the season in which music develops the superpower to really reach lots and lots of people, and my electric violin frees its sound without boundaries under multiples skies and a gazillion stars.

From June to today I find myself having done more than 60 shows, including 6 appointments outside of Italy: when browsing through my blog, you will often notice I use a simple ranking system to render my notes more concise, but giving summer events an order of importance wouldn’t be useless, so here’s a messy sequence of flash memories and images.

– The human tide at the Athens stadium for the Colours Day Festival;

– the intense days at the “Planetario” of Cosenza for the shoot of the new The Space Violin Project video (which you will see soon) and the concert in the square, one of the hippest of the summer; 

– the 5 incredible days of Ferragosto (mid-august celebration) with 8 flights between Sardinia, Rome and Puglia, in which I woke up in Salento and played the evening in Porto Cervo and back to Salento again the next day: a masterpiece of “tour organization”!

– the evening in Madonna di Campiglio, with the Brenta Dolomites as a backdrop and the beauty of the high-altitude walk the next morning; 

– The discovery of Japan and, above all, of the Japanese, opening one’s mind to completely new perspectives; 

– The love, in all its facets, that I perceived during the “wedding parties”, some which really moved me; 

– The beaches, music with one’s feet in the sand, the grateful eyes of the audience that is recharged by the music and warmth, and just one regret: not having been part of the Jova Beach Party, a fantastic event to which I really wanted to take even just a few notes, though this time, unfortunately, my team and I couldn’t make it happen. Lorenzo, if next year you will reinvent something similar I will, for sure, be knocking vigorously at your door again;

– I will finish up by mentioning the many young people I met: summer creates an intense contact with an audience that is more difficult to approach during the winter, that of the very young, to whom I am getting closer thanks to the Space Violin Project; the adventures of Commander AJ surely bring my music into a dimension that also appeals to teenagers, with elements of “gamification” mixed in with science fiction, which really excite everyone every time I step on a stage with my space outfit, accompanied by AJ’s story in pictures on always bigger and brighter Led Walls: I can’t wait to organize a winter and indoor tour entirely dedicated to this story, and to see parents and their kids come and dance and dream about space and the future in music with me!
